Chimps’ Nest lodge is located next to Nyabubale village between Nkingo and Bigodi in just a 15 minutes drive from Kanyanchu the main point of UWA. The lodge is a perfect destination for all those interested in birding and is found along the edge of Kibale forest hence offering spectacular views of the magnificent Kibale Forest and the beautiful snow capped summits of Mountain Rwenzori. One will also spot various wildlife animals like primates including monkeys, chimpanzees and forest elephants. There are various local foods provided at the lodge which include ginger jam, peanut butter, honey, pineapple, sieved coffee and the lodge was constructed naturally with ordinary materials as well as solar energy for the provision of light. The accommodation we provide is of high quality with good looking self contained cottages, family cottages as well as a tree house and these are very private with stunning views of the terrain, vegetation and wildlife. There are restaurants that prepare and serve all kinds of meals including both local and international to suit every guests’ requirements/ desires as according to what they want to eat. The activities one can involve in include natural walks, chimpanzee tracking, hiking at the slopes of Mountain Rwenzori, Bigodi village walks etc
