Engagi Lodge

Engagi Lodge in Bwindi is an advanced lodge located in a vast area adjacent to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park proceeding from the main road to the park headquarters along the Munyaga River. Engagi Lodge was built using ordinary materials and local labor provided by the people in the community. The material includes rocks, eucalyptus trees while the rooms were constructed using banana fibre provided by the local farmers. It offers breathtaking/stunning views of the forest canopy and the environment to all visitors. The main lodge structure is divided into a bar cum sitting room, a dining room, a large outdoor verandah viewing platform and this is well spaced to accommodate candid individual groups. The lodge is open ended at the façade offering a spectacular view of Bwindi forest from all corners inside the building. It has a furnished kitchen built a few minutes away with experienced chefs preparing delicious meals i.e 3 course meals on request including those of vegetarians so as to enhance guest satisfaction. The lodge includes 8 en-suite cottages that are spacious enough and remotely located in the flora. These have rooms that have double/ twin beds, flushing toilets, bathrooms, hot/ cold streaming water with personnel verandahs where guests can relax and enjoy breakfast/ coffee while viewing the beautiful forest canopy and the green vegetation. Solar energy is used to provide electricity as well as a backup generator. Hot water is also provided by the eco friendly wood burning boilers.
